What is OEM?

If the client has knowledge of cosmetics and supplements and outsources their intentions to an OEM company, we can manufacture the client’s branded cosmetics and supplements without having to purchase raw materials, invest in human resources, or invest in equipment ourselves.

What is ODM?

Even if the client has no knowledge of cosmetics or supplements, by outsourcing to an ODM company, in addition to OEM benefits, we can provide the client with branded cosmetics and supplements, including planning, marketing, raw material procurement, sales methods, etc. We can manufacture supplements.

Flow until commercialization

STEP1 Meeting (planning)

We will discuss with you the image of the product you desire. We will ask you about your product concept, target group, production quantity, desired delivery date, sales area, etc., and then make a proposal. In the case of an ODM request, we will listen to the customer’s wishes and make a proposal.

STEP2 Determining prototype specifications

We will manufacture prototypes based on customer requests and concepts. We will ask you to check out the prototype product, including its scent, texture, color, and feel. We will continue to make improvements until we get close to the ideal product.

STEP3 Material selection

We will select packaging such as containers and presentation boxes according to the prototype. We will suggest the best combinations, such as compatibility with containers and minimizing purchase lots.

STEP4 Stability test of prototype

Once we have decided on the prototype (bulk) and container, we will conduct a stability test. We check to see if the prototype is stable under certain environmental conditions, such as changes in temperature, color, etc. over time, and to see if the container changes as well.

STEP5 Estimate/contract conclusion

After finalizing product specifications, apply for registration of sales name. We will issue an estimate/invoice (request for payment) and conclude a contract.

STEP6 Pharmaceutical check

We will check whether containers, cosmetic boxes, leaflets, etc. comply with the Pharmaceutical Machinery Act.

STEP7 manufacturing

After finalizing the payment, we select a factory that suits the customer’s preferences and manufacture the product.

STEP8 delivery of materials

We will deliver the finished product to the location specified by the customer.

STEP9 After-sales follow-up

We provide detailed after-sales follow-up even after delivery for both OEM and ODM requests.

FAQ

Q.I would like to manufacture cosmetics/supplements for the first time, is this okay?

A.As the company name ODM suggests, we will disclose our know-how from the beginning to those who are thinking of commercializing private brand cosmetics and supplements as new entrants.

Q.What kind of products can you manufacture?

A.Please feel free to contact us regarding skin care, supplements, hair care, body care, makeup, bath salts, etc.

Q.What is the minimum lot size?

A.It depends on the product you want, but it will start from 500 pieces. However, there are fewer options for containers and packages, and the unit price will be higher, so we recommend orders of 1,000 pieces or more. Economic lots generally start at 3000 pieces. We will provide you with three types of estimates: minimum lot, recommended lot, and economic lot. Please contact us separately regarding commercial use, bulk supply, or procurement of raw materials only.

Q.How long does it take to make a product?

A.

  • Sample creation…about 2-3 weeks
  • Temporal stability test period: Approximately 1 to 3 months from formulation decision
  • Material procurement: Approximately 3 months after deciding on the specifications for containers, packages, designs, etc. (In the case of container/package printing, the lead time can be shortened by only providing stickers.)
  • Manufacturing, production…basically about 3 months from the contract date
Q.Is there a charge for the prototype?

A.This is basically free of charge. If you want to use expensive raw materials or raw materials that are not stored in the factory, or if you are requesting a large quantity, we may charge a separate raw material fee.

Q.Can you provide me with just the raw materials?

A.It is also possible to provide small portions of only raw materials for cosmetics and health foods. Please contact us for more information.

Q.Is it possible to bring in our own raw materials?

A.You can bring in raw materials. It is necessary to confirm the specifications and safety of the raw materials you wish to combine, and to present a safety data sheet to prove them.

Q.Do you have a prescription that can be commercialized immediately?

A.We have a large number of quasi-drugs and prescriptions that have been tested for UV rays.

Q.I would like to request that you manufacture products that target not only Japan but the world. Is that possible?

A.We have staff who have many years of experience in OEM and ODM services all over the world, so we are able to expand our business to all over the world. We provide comprehensive support, from complicated export procedures to dealing with prescriptions that vary by country, and handling export application procedures on your behalf.

Q.I don’t know the law, but is it okay?

A.Please rest assured that our staff will carefully support you in matters such as pharmaceutical application, product liability labeling, and advertising.
